Context
Gravel biking demands a helmet that balances protection, comfort, and versatility. Long rides over mixed terrain require, ventilation to manage heat and extended rear coverage for added safety. A secure fit and compatibility with eyewear are also essential for maintaining comfort across changing conditions.

Ideation
In the early design stage, we sketched to quickly explore a wide range of ideas and design directions. As the concepts evolve, the strongest features from different sketches are identified, and refined into new iterations.

Rapid Prototyping
Low-fidelity models are then made using plasticine to bring these concepts into a three-dimensional form.

Building Process
We started by sculpting a clay base, refining its form by hand, then carved and detailed the vents with precision tools. The final touch was the strap, made from sewn cording and 3D-printed components, pinned directly into the clay model.

Final Model
The final clay model captures the essence of Fiskars' functional and durable design philosophy. Carefully sculpted and refined, it showcases the helmet's extended coverage, vent placement, and overall form.
